Dear CMJH Families,

Enjoy these last few days of summer - I am looking forward to working with all of you as we start the 2019-20 school year this week.

As parents of a CMJH student, we are all members of the PTO- welcome!

Our PTO supports the JH in several ways- we have a One and Done donation, which goes directly back to our school at the end of the year. This last year, the PTO was able to help provide Chrome books & carts for the school. We have upgraded the water fountains, provided library furniture and gym equipment as well as helped out with the Book Club in the library.

You can donate, see details in this One and Done letter; please drop off your donation in the office at school and thank you in advance!

We also provide snacks and drinks for our school dances, as well as various items for teacher luncheons. Look for an email coming soon asking for water and snacks for our first school dance on Friday, August 23rd.

Of course we have PTO meetings- they are short and informative, I hope you are able to drop by for several! Meetings are on Wednesdays, in the JH library, at 1:30 p.m. Our first meeting is Wednesday, August 28th- please mark it on your calendar and join us!

We are still in need of several PTO positions: Vice President and Assistant Treasurer. These are positions that need to be filled by a parent who will be here in the school for the next 2 school years. We also need a secretary to take notes during our meetings and send those notes over to the website. Please let me know if you are interested! Being on the PTO board is a great way to be involved in this wonderful school!

The PTO will be selling directories and spiritwear at Back to School night on Tuesday, August 20th. Directories are $10, or two for $15. In addition to student information to contact new friends, directories has important information about our school for easy reference. Spiritwear is a fantastic way to show support of our school; t-shirts and sweatshirts in Tbird colors will be available. We are able to take cash or card.

Thank you all for your support of our school-I hope to see you all on Back to School night and at PTO meetings.

Please let me know if you have any questions,
Beth DePeppe, PTO President

PTO CORNER

Hi CMJH Family,

I can’t believe we are a month away from Spring Break and are already talking about 7th and 9th grade orientations! When they say these two years go crazy fast, it is so true! I want to take a moment and thank you all for the help this year - through direct donations, coming to an event like a dance, or sending us goodies.

We have some exciting things happening in the next few months:

We will be choosing a school cause to donate our One and Done money;
We will be working on the directory for next year; and
We will also begin searching for new board members for the 19/20 school year.

Beth DePeppe, whose fame is well known throughout our district, will be taking the reins from me and needs a solid team to help her next year. Please keep a look out for information about 19/20 soon!

Thanks for everything you do! I am so proud to be part of this community!

Carley Bogus
President

Thank You!!

Thank you to all our volunteers/donors of ice cream for the Honor Roll Ice Cream Social! It is always great to celebrate our hard-working students! The kids loved the treat!

How Can I Help?

Please consider volunteering on the PTO Board for the 19/20 school year. All input and participation is appreciated! PTO CORNER

Happy October CMJH Family!

Thanks to everyone for your One and Done donations! We are still tallying up the donations but from what I saw, we will have significant money to add great value to our students and teachers this year. We are still collecting for One and Done – you can send your donation to the office with your child. Just a reminder, we are officially a 501C3, so you may now write off donations to CMJH.

Also, a big thanks to everyone who has volunteered your time this year. At the PTO, we know your time is precious. So, whether chaperoning a dance, taking a moment to buy a donation food item, or coming to a PTO meeting, we appreciate you and your time so very much!

Carley Bogus
PTO President

Sign up to get PTO eBlasts!

Like with everything else at the Junior High, the PTO communicates electronically mainly through our PTO eBlasts. Here’s how to sign up for important information:

Go to: Cmjh.cmsd12.org;  Hover on: Our School; Click: PTO; Visit: PTO website
Enter email address to receive eBlasts (right side of screen)
**you will then receive an email to that address and you must confirm.

One and Done

Instead of doing fundraising all year, PTO collects funds just once and uses those dollars in the year we collect them. Your donations go directly back to CMJH and is the cornerstone for all PTO does. Please make sure to send in your “One and Done” contribution to the office.

Halloween Dance
Be on the lookout for more information on the Halloween dance and PTO requests for additional help and/or food contributions.

Wednesday, August 1, 2018

Hi CMJH Family,
I cannot believe it, but July is coming to a close and August is back and with it another great school year at CMJH! I wanted to take a quick moment to update you on a couple important dates, reminders and news up and coming from PTO this year.
For our 7th grade parents, I am Carley Bogus, the president of the PTO. I have an absolutely amazing oncoming/returning board and am excited for a great 18/19 school year. Thank you to them and to all parent and teacher members. CMJH is an amazing community and your generosity and engagement never ceases to amaze me.
At CMJH, the PTO runs similar to those at our elementary schools. We put together and sell spirit wear, help with dances and other school events, show teacher appreciation, as well as help raise money for meaningful financial contributions to the school. These include new water fountains, gym equipment and library furniture. You will receive more information in the upcoming weeks, but we do all this with one single fundraising at the beginning of the year, our One and Done campaign. Be on the look out for information about One and Done.
Alright, now for the fun stuff!
We have several upcoming important dates and some signups for a few volunteer needs:
August 13th - 10:30-12:30(ish): Folder Stuffing
We need up to 15+ folder stuffers to stuff the Student Folders. Kids with stuffing skills are welcome! The more people we can get, the faster we will be done.

August 16th – 7:45AM-12:00PM: 7th Grade Hearing Screening Helpers
We need 6 volunteers to help with heating screen on 7th Grader Orientation Day. Volunteers should plan to work the whole morning shift. Snacks and training provided!

August 28th – 1:30 PM: PTO Meeting
We meet one monthly (twice annually in the evening) in the Library at CMJH. We will have our first PTO meeting on the 28th. Meetings are fast and informative. I look forward to meeting you there!

August 28th – 6:00-6:30: Back to School Night Social
We will be selling spirit wear and directories, and will have laptops available for signups at Back to School Night.

We are currently collecting updates for the Student Directory. Please be on the lookout for signups from the official D12 messenger. Also, if you are a local business and want to get an ad in the CMJH directory reaching 300+ CMJH families, please email lucidwind@gmail.com.

Thanks everyone, be on the lookout for volunteer sign ups! Hope you are enjoying the last bit of summer!
Carley Bogus, PTO President
